Backdrop
- a term given to object(s) directly behind the
point of interest doring shooting. This could be referring to a landscape,
busy street scene, or just a solid color paper or muslin.
Cam
- Abbreviation for "Camera"
CODEC
- stands for "Coder-Decoder" and it is
a name given to software or hardware which compresses data (for storage,
transfer, etc.) and later decompressed that data.
DV
- short for "Digital Video"
DVD
- stands for "Digital Versatile Disc"
HD
- "High Definition"
HDV
- "High Definition Video"
NTSC
- "National Television System Committee"
is the most common bradcast system for North America, Central America,
as well as a few countries in South America and Asia.
PAL
- short for "Phase Alternating Line",
is the most common broadcast system for Europe, Middle East,
parts of Aftica and Asia, as well as Australia, and a few countries in
South America.
Tripod
- piece of hardware that serves as a mounting device
for equipment (most commonly cameras)
